A Bolton corporate finance team has helped negotiate a deal between a Lancashire metal firm and a US-based engineering company, it has emerged.
Cowgill Holloway advised shareholders of Blackburn's Metals UK Group on the acquisition of the firm by A M Castle & Co, reports This is Lancashire.
Ian Johnson, corporate finance partner at Cowgill Holloway, stated that the company has worked with Metals UK for a number of years and has dealt with the initial set-up of the business.
He said: "Since then, we have advised Metals UK Group on its buy and build strategy, which has resulted in the group becoming an attractive acquisition target within its industry."
Metals UK Group is one of the fastest growing metal service centres in Europe with three processing plants in Britain and one in Spain.
Earlier this month, figures from the British Bankers' Association indicated that company finance deals bucked the overall downward trend for borrowing over the course of December.
The association pointed out that the month was particularly active, however those businesses which have cashflow concerns may wish to look towards invoice discounting or factoring.
