It seems even the most privileged of business people sometimes could use the services of an invoice factoring firm, as a recent case involving Channel Five and Rupert Murdoch’s daughter has demonstrated.
Elisabeth Murdoch’s TV production company, Shine TV, is taking legal action against Channel Five for failing to pay the bill for a show the company produced.
Talent show, Don’t Stop Believing, which was fronted by former Spice Girl Emma Bunton, was shown on Channel Five back in summer 2010. Now, Shine TV says the channel, which was taken over by Northern & Shell after the show aired, has failed to pay its bill.
The TV channel is reportedly asking Shine to dramatically reduce the bill for the show, which failed to bring in the viewers. Shine says it will team up with another firm suffering the same treatment from Five in order to launch legal action.
Firms all over the UK, both small and large, have these kinds of problems with clients failing to pay bills on time. Factoring out invoices can help to reduce the burden of these kinds of cases and return cashflow to the company.
