Uncertainty over the future of the British economy will bring with it a range of opportunities for businesses around the country, it has been suggested.
Addressing a regional business conference in Leeds recently, the editor of the Yorkshire Evening Post Paul Napier insisted that companies that position themselves appropriately could take advantage of the current climate.
Many businesses are turning to alternative forms of funding, including debtor finance as banks become less keen to lend, while much of the recent conference was focused on how Yorkshire companies can leverage the assets they already have.
"Uncertainty and opportunity often work hand in hand. Where there is the greatest uncertainty there is the most to be gained," said Mr Napier, according to a report from his own newspaper.
A report last week from TMCnet claimed that factoring and other forms of debtor finance are increasingly being used by businesses in a wide range of industry sectors in the UK and around the world.
