Invoice discounting offers 'innovative solutions'

Invoice discounting can offer business around the UK an innovative way to solve their financing problems, it has been suggested.

Alison Small, a director at City Invoice Finance, is convinced that invoice discounting can give small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in particular the kind of flexibility they need to fund their operations.

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News recently, Ms Small suggested that an increasing number of SMEs are looking for new ways to make use of their assets in the wake of the so-called credit crunch and the resulting borrowing constraints.

"The entrepreneurial spirit of the north-west's community means that increasingly dynamic start-ups and larger businesses are looking to invoice financiers to provide creative solutions to their business needs," she said.

A report from Creditman recently revealed that the PBT International printing supplies company raised around £3 million through a invoice financing arrangement.
